Rage

"A cat's rage is beautiful, burning with pure cat flame, all its hair standing up and crackling blue sparks, eyes blazing and sputtering." -William S. Burroughs

William S. Burrough's quotation means that rage can be depicted as something beautiful. The energy out of rage can be fascinating yet can be scary all at once. Rage is strong and powerful.

"Anger is a killing thing: it kills the man who angers, for each rage leaves him less than he had been before - it takes something from him."-Louis L'Amour

Louis L'Armour's quotation means that rage eats away at one's self. Every fit of rage takes a piece of one's self until finally there is nothing left but a shell full of anger and rage.

3-5 possible texts/media that i feel reflect rage are:

1: Twilight Saga.
2: Eminem's older songs were often based on his anger/rage towards something or someone.
3: The Incredible Hulk
4: StarWars: Omnibus
5: Phantom Of The Opera

  1. A good topic choice, however you may want to look more closely at the way rage is being used in the context of the second quotation. I don't think it means quite what you think.

I am not sure what the two sides of this theme are given your sources and your explanations. Perhaps you could look at the causes of rage (the difference between rage and hatred) and then the after effects of rage (the emergence of guilt and remorse).
